My Wednesday out – which, aside from a nice lunch with my dad – was mostly errand-running which included stopping by Cingular to get a new phone and service. (We’ve finally decided to fire Sprint.)
Now I had gone on before about my old beloved green-screened brick of a communication device… I knew it was out of date – but didn’t really know just HOW FAR.
Thanks to Rico coming over with his little Bluetooth phone and wetting my appetite for such new-fangled poop – I already had a new-tech primer.
An hour after entering the store – I waltzed out the owner of a Sony Ericsson S710a.
Nothing like extremes… I went from my little brick to this tiny, sexy little swivel thing which…. has:
An MP3 Player
A 1.3 MP Camera
A Video Recorder
A bunch of other things I haven’t figured out yet….
oh yeah… and you can call people with it too.
I figure in a few years people will be picking on me for using it when everyone else had opted for the new phones that get surgically implanted into your forehead… but for the time being – it’s kinda cool to be technologically current.
It all feels very 21st Century…. then again that may be because I connected it to my laptop and uploaded the Jetson’s telephone ring sound and assigned it as my ring tone.
Then I realized that the sky’s the limit on ringtones…
Then I remembered all those Parker Posey samples I’ve been hoarding.
Then I let out a little pee.
Then I denied ever blogging about any of this.
