Fromagegogo

Oh sure, make the hippy hippie girl dance on dairy!

The morning started with brunch at Uncle Bill’s Pancakes with Julie & Beau. Enjoyed a huge plate of corned beef hash. (“Hash” could quite possibly be one of my favorite food groups outside of the “gummy” group… Oh yeah.. And the cheese group).

Sent her on her way to the airport with hugs, kisses and promises to come up and visit soon.

Julie’s folks from KC drove in last night to visit so we let them have “family time” and flew solo.

Friend Neel, LJ newbie, xenohomo, asked us to come visit him while working a charity event at Whole Foods. (As if needing cheese wasn’t a good enough excuse to go there!). 5% of all sales during the even went to local AIDS charities.

The store was peppered with “go-go” stations, 60-era music pumping, and a variety of guys and galls in period-dress shaking their money makers between the isles.

There was something smugly ironic about the recreation of this iconoclastic decade in such an well-branded, yuppie store.

Nevertheless… I heard Nancy Sinatra and it suddenly made me feel good about buying organic.

We left with nearly 30 dollars worth of cheese and a basket of other exotic goodies like milk in glass bottles.

I thank God every day that I’m not lactose intolerant.

I thank Buddha that I’m not blogging.
