Today the god kid turns a decade.
I’m going to refrain from the impulse to freak out and think, “Woooah… I knew this guy when he was a muffin in the oven…”…… Although I can now empathetically slip into my mom’s friend’s shoes and wonder what it was like a ways back when I turned 30.
We heard that he was going to get this camo hoody jacket thing that’s wired for sound. (*speakers in the hood and a jack in the front pocket for a portable audio player).
Elise said he’ll love using his portable CD player with it.
(*pause for dramatic effect*)
“Portable CD Player”
pish-fish!
No god-son of ours is going to be limited to “optical media”… no sir!
again… I’m going to refrain from the impulse to freak and think… “Woooah… I remember when CD technology was new..”.
Anyway – we went out and got him an iPod Shuffle… which will go nicely with his new jacket… and.. if I remember correctly – age 10 is about the time when I started coveting my mom’s old Monkey’s 45s.
Last night we had a blast filling it with music…. I’m now really starting to understand the joy of working with huge libraries… When you sit to build a list and you have over eleven thousand songs at your fingertips – the process becomes like stream of consciousness poetry.
Each of us made made our own list of songs and then combined them into one big list
broken into three sections: Kevin, Chad and Me…
Thanks to a cheese-ball freeware audio editing program I found online, we were able to record personal introductions to each of our sections…. Audio Clip Links: The group-intro, Kevin’s, Chad’s, and Monkey Boy’s ….
If Andrew plays them in order he gets a little tour through our mind’s ear… if he puts into “shuffle”,… he’s in for an ear-full of completely kooky eclectivity.
Suitable either way from the three fairy god fathers.
again… I’m going to refrain from the impulse to freak and think… “Woooah… I really should find a gimmick to end my journal entries.”.
