I started maintaining a LiveJournal blog back in 2003 and stuck with it fairly religiously up until I lost my dad in late 2008. The stress of the event and the subsequent damage control of cleaning up the estate of a hoarder just gobbled up every last bit of energy I had leaving nothing for stuff like self-expression.

My friend Chris had mentioned the wonders of WordPress quite a while back – but it didn’t come back on my radar scope until recently when necessity sent me out on the web looking for some Content Management Systems I could use for clients.

After spending a month dinking and reading – I finally felt confident enough to install WP on my server and give it a try – starting first with importing the 1000 some odd entries from LiveJournal i had previously made.

I’ve got my work cut out for me in backtracking and re-tagging / saving images and stuff – but that’s the kinda stuff I live for in those moments between when I should be doing something that actually earns an income.

I’m also re-finding my “voice” after an acute case of cyber-laryngitis.
