the sentient NS-5, “Sonny”

Flat soda pop… Ever accidentally take a swig of one? That moment when you tip the can to your mouth and you’re expecting sweet fiz but instead get a mouthful of brown water instead?

I knew the probability of I,Robot sucking was high – but a fascination with robots since I was a child made us go shell out the cash to see the new Will Smith movie.

A detached chain of C.G. Action connected by wimpy plot devices, dumbed-down writing, deadpan character development and Smith taking his clothes off. The robot protagonist gave the most convincing performance.

The NS-5 robot design was pretty cool in an iMac / Micronaut sorta way…

I’m no sci-fi geek – but I’m definitely an enthusiast. I can’t seem to figure out “why” some flicks “feel” inspired while other’s don’t.

I keep going to these big releases with a classic-hook, hoping to be surprised but haven’t been since the 98′ release of Lost In Space.

So.. No surprises really. I figured as much.

I figure you all think I’m blogging too.
