Floors in and grouted….

I had a neurotic freakout about the grout… too light.. too much contrast… this sparked off a city-wide search for a darker shade to use on the walls… found some finally at a specialty tile store but only after three and a half hours of swimming up-stream at Lowes and Home Depot. New color for the wall joints is called “Pewter” – hopefully it will create a lower-contrast joint effect…. till then I’m wringing my hands about it…

Wall tile is “going” up… One excruciating 2″ x 17″ piece at a time. Ron (carpenter guy) is going to get another wall started and let us help out tomorrow.

Moving right along… Hardieboard is all up – the tile in the shower and the floor are now down and sealed.

Ron – (carpenter) is coming in today to grout the floor… It’ll set up over Xmas..

Then it’s onto the walls!

Meanwhile, as a nod to the closets that used to be in the room – the front wall (oposite the window / shower) – will be paneled in plywood… Kev’s just finished the last coat of poly and sanding… they’re gorgeous.

Catching up on some work from the time lost sitting in the ER and emergency room last week w/ dad…. He’s back home now… They can’t quite figure out why he keeps dehydrating so bad… all Mom and I do is just keep encouraging him to eat and DRINK WATER… I’m making some chicken and Chad’s grandma’s homemade noodles for him and brining it over later…. Dad goes into a dark place around Christmas anyway – this year, light and time are now bending around his house.
