cicada… sounds like a good name for a car.

urr.. ummm… yeah… so I’m still not done going through pics from the road trip…. I’m trying – it just feels like I’m still chasing around a bunch of little fires…

Add to that: For the last week including today, I’ll sit straight up at 5am like I always do – but just lay back down. Half-conscious cuddling for a couple hours wins out over what’s normally time for our little morning coffee klatch,urr.. blog.. “blatch”? Coffee Blactch? Klarg? Coffee Klarg?

*slaps self*

Got another huge dent in the downed limbs in the back yard from the storm done…. (bonfire at our place this fall – you’re invited).

At least Chad found time to be creative… He terrorized a cicada with his macro lens while Kevin tried out his new chainsaw and I folded laundry madly.

Speaking of terror and cicada… Came to find out our common girlfriend mistress / cat-sitter, devcubber, had planted spent cicada shells all through our bed while we were gone. *fortunately on Kevin’s side – otherwise I’m sure I’d be typing this entry from the cardiac wing at Barnes.

I noticed something strangely crunchy in one of the pillowcases while I was doing laundry.

For some fortunate reason – I didn’t dig it out to see what it was.

So… if it started snowing in say….. July… Or the sun would set at noon…. I’m fairly certain mass hysteria would ensue… Commerce would come to a screeching halt… Protestants would run to church… Baby carriages would fly unattended down large staircases…. Mass hysteria!

So… why hasn’t anyone stopped and bothered to freak out that its sixty degrees in January?

I can see myself sitting with Andrew’s children in twenty years and saying something like, “Oh yes… There was a time you didn’t have to drive to Canada to see snow… It used to snow right here in good ole Missouri!”

Anyway – the super warm weather doesn’t only mean we have some bulbs coming up in the garden… There’s also still critters around – like the little hairy bastard we saved from the inquisitive wrath of the lokimonster last night.
