anxious
Yesterday was my wednesday off – and a good one at that.
Spent the morning working a little though… Lip-service dog and pony shows trying to persuade my second client to go on retainer. The greatest Christmas present I can give us the evoloution out of project-based work, (read as: hand-to-mouth). I’m getting too damn old for the monthly “holy shit did I do enough projects to make the house payment” panic game.
The only noteworthy frustration of yesterday was the realization that there is no really good delivery pizza in range. Hands-down – the best independent place won’t deliver to us because we’re just BARELY over their boundary. I know the owner from over a decade of cracker-thin pizza and garlic bread orders – I’m going to catch up with him next time I’m that way and plead our case. Maybe offer to design some flyers for free to distribute in the subdivision to boost business making the inclusion of our area worth their while.
Meanwhile we had to wrestle with our choices:
1) Pizza Hut – (everything has the same strange chemically aftertaste)
2) Domino’s – (politically iffy – since their company allegedly donates huge sums to radical pro-life organizations – the kind that bomb clinics).
3) Pappa John’s – (inconsistent quality – it’s russian roulette every time we order).
What’s a pair of fat-asses with the day off to do?
The fall colors are emerging outside. A few leaves seem as anxious as I am.
Too happy to blog.
