roofers

the black stuff is ice & water shield

You know.. there’s nothing quite as creepy to awaking to footsteps overhead…. That’s precisely what happened yesterday.

The roofers showed up in force and were well underway before 9am.

Sure they were a rather ratty bunch of mexican immigrants and recently rehabilitated felons, but they knew their stuff.

They were done by about 3:30 and left the yard immaculate.

My only complaint is the nails that show through in the carport ceiling and some nails in the interior ceiling popped down a little when they they dropped / slammed some things down. (I told the foreman to instruct his crew to take care because this style of home didn’t have a big buffer space between interior ceiling and roof – I suppose the english as a second language guys didn’t get the memo). Regardless, the same company is doing the repairs on the inside so I’ll simply point out the nails that popped down and have them fix that while they’re here.

I’m not sure if the carport ceiling issue could have been avoided – worse comes to worse when it gets repainted, the nails should vanish.

Overall they were fast, very clean and the workmanship (finish) of the work is great.

It’ll be nice now to stop running for buckets when it rains.

Can’t blog – gotta find a saw wheel for the dremel tool to try and saw off the exposed nail points in the carport.
