summer vacation

My Wednesday at the house yesterday… Typical Wednesday antics including fielding some stuff for work and finally knocking out a concept, based on Googleâ„¢ image searching, for Andy’s 40th birthday party Elise asked me to do.

I’ve had my hands full adapting to the concept of having to be somewhere every day for set hours… She’s had her hands full with little Andy who’s now on summer break from school.

It’s neat to experience Summer though a kid’s eyes…. It’s like taking the governor off the go-cart… All that pent up energy released and this excited optimism about the coming fall.. For us – he’s merely going up a grade… In their eyes it’s a huge evolutionary step going to the next grade.

Now… all that babble about “seeing anew” through a kid’s perception of time is fine and dandy…

But as empathic as I may try to sell myself as… I don’t get the no-tie-your-shoes-thing.

When I asked Andrew why his shoes weren’t tied, I was greeted with a look as if I asked him “why don’t you wear your shoes on your ears?”.

*Mom informed me that “it’s not cool” to tie your shoes.

I informed her that “it’s not cool to blog” – and I’d not be making a note of this.
