The praying mantises have started appearing in the garden / carport. (We have three this year).

For not really paying attention – I’m noticing the patterns… Our little Mantis friends show up during the last stretch of warm weather on the road to Fall… ugh.. that means the Monarchs will be here soon too. (*insert horror movie soundtrack here*)

Elise loved her cake and the can opener we bought her. I think you’re officially middle-aged when you can get excited about buying (and receiving as gifts) things like small appliances. I’m also looking forward to getting underwear for Christmas.

Tomorrow will be the first Wednesday “studio day” I’ve been able to take in months… Some freelance work, tax prep, PJs and pizza will be on the agenda I think
