where garlic is king

*beep*

In order to bypass the crowds and hooplah – we celebrated last Tuesday on Saturday with gifts and dinner out.

I got wireless controllers for the Game Cube and a little Japanese robot panda thing with DVD… (Hard to explain but I’m sure I will later).

Dinner out was at a place Kevin and I hadn’t been in a long time and Chad had *never* been to called “Saleem’s”, (where garlic is king!”â„¢) in the loop.

It’s a Lebanese restaurant – which – for the uninitiated: think Saucy Greek BBQ…. Kabobs and grilled saucy meats over rice… Hummus… Roasted garlic you smear on pita… lemony garlic this – spicy tahini garlic that.

Kevin’s and my memory was validated…. it was GOOD…. Chad’s head popped off claiming it had to be one of the best 5 meals he’s had… EVER.

Dinner was accompanied by a belly dancer who seemed to stalk our table… She wiggled, jiggled and eventually took off her shawl thing, threw it over my shoulders and grabbed a big sword and started dancing with it.

“Oh great Jim – now you pissed her off.”, the boys teased.

I don’t know if that gesture meant something in belly-dance code or not…. I turned a color closely coordinating with the Marrakesh-on-Holiday interior – so I’m sure she got the rise she was looking for.

Goofed off on the loop for the rest of the night then headed home.

Really nice.
