The skylight company banged it out, (somewhat literally), before 2pm yesterday.

Serendipity would strike… I had spec’d the skylight to be perfectly centered in the ceiling. Once they got in there they noticed that the 2′ x 4′ opening would fit perfectly between the roof’s beams with no need to cut anything.

The portal’s now sits at a real nice 1/3 : 2/3 line in the ceiling in line with the door and natural pathway into the room.

I think I’m going to have the carpenter finish out the light-well with natural / varnished plywood instead of drywall… (closet to the left is getting stripped back to natural wood).

The only word I can think of to explain taking a shower this morning and looking up at clouds while rinsing my hair was….
…….
luxurious.

This is going to be another one of those “never another without” things…

you know, like your first car with power-windows… “Wow.. I’ll never own another car without ’em!”

or fireplaces.

or now… a skylight.
