chad communing with his spirit animal
Considering Chad’s obsession with sharks and aquatic life in general… annnnd – it “is†his birthday trip.. We opted to go to The Newport Aquarium instead of the zoo.
The facility is in what’s rapidly becoming the built up, touristy, river-front area of Kentucky. (Just across the river from downtown Cincinnati). The area is well thought out… St. Louis could learn a thing or two from these folks about revitalizing a downtown area and making it interesting / palatable.
The Aquarium was fine. I’m not big on marine life – and don’t see aquarium visits as “exploratory or educationalâ€, rather as a reinforcement for my fear of swimming in natural bodies of water.
Chad was trilled though – and that’s what mattered most.
chrisglass and I enjoyed walking through the exhibit and bitching about their completely dreadfully designed, incoherent and inconsistent signage and information displays..
We’ve been here too long. The guy’s have wore off on Glass and now they’re all gang-bang teasing me because my goat is easily obtained.
Funny – it’s one of the favorite jokes… “(insert whatever) – because you’re an only childâ€Â – well… I think that’s why. I was spared a childhood of sibling torment and to this day struggle with friendly teasing. I’m getting better though.
I should brush up on my inner-prick skills and learn how to tease back.
I’m not blogging – I’m packing and trying to clean and restore Glass’ house to it’s pre-3-bears tidy state.
