the woogies

Good, full weekend that I’ll need to reserve some time to catch up and non-blog about in the next day or so.

In the meantime I’m late out of the gate this morning to get to…….. work.

We no longer have a kitten on our hands… Loki has reached the feline equivalent of “kidhood”… and all the funny, silly, awkward and infuriating challenges to authority all that represents.

I don’t know if she coined it, but we learned a new term from Elise.

“The Woogies” : The sporadic, temporary episode that people, (usually children), go through when they have more energy than things to do…

This usually results in crazy behavior… We’ve seen it in Andrew. *especially after he sneaks a fist-full of Pediacrack from our cupboard when mom’s not looking.

Well.. apparently this state isn’t exclusive to humans.

Little Loki’s day could be described as one long chain of disconnected woogies.

Anyway… Dad sent us some fancy tomatoes to plant which came packed in a box full of those corn-starch packing peanuts..

With no encouragement from us… one of the critters favorite games now is while in the throws of a woogie-attack, he’ll run around the house a few times, leap and DIVE into the box of peanuts and proceed to have a life and death wrestling match with…….. nothing.

Thanks to Kevin and a Sharpie, we now have “The Woogie Box”…

and ya wanna know something? – IT WORKS!!!

When Loki woogifies – we simply pick him up and throw him in the box where he can freak-out freely…. He loves it.

The other cats simply look on and wonder why we don’t tape up the box and call UPS…

…meanwhile the one human in the house grabs his taking camera device, takes photos, coos and denies blogging about the whole thing.
